In the edible oil industry Malaysia is a world leader as a producer and exporter of palm oil, with around 13.98 million tons produced in 2004 and 12.6 million tons exported for the same year. 

Malaysia is also the center of the latex industry. A significant commodity of Malaysia and S.E.A. countries is natural  rubber latex (NRL).  Malaysia remains the 3rd largest producer and exporter of NRL.  In 2004 its NRL export was  1,106,086 tonnes.

Malaysia and its ASEAN neighbours continue to expand the agricultural sectors, especially in palm oil, rubber and its related products (palm fats, oleochemicals, synthetic rubber, etc.). The outlook for liquid bulk packaging is prospective.  Packaging for shipment of such liquid products (edible oils, latex, lubricants, dairy products, beverages and chemicals) is specialized and expensive as compared to packaging used for non-liquid products. 

In view of this, Luster Group has entered into a joint venture with Cortainer Products Sdn Bhd in 2005 to incorporate My Flexitank Industries Sdn Bhd  to design, develop, manufacture and market an innovative flexitank for the bulk packaging industry.  Flexitank is the most economical bulk packaging method for shipping liquids other than deep water tankers.  Flexitank converts a standard 20-foot sea container into 24-ton bulk liquid transportation system.  Our system of Bulk Packaging is more competitive in cost and efficiency.  It is constructed of two independent food-grade 15 mil thick tubes and a rugged, abrasion resistant outer layer.  It is capable of shipping up to 24,000 liters of bulk liquid.
